The international Accenta fair, one of the most comprehensive trade fairs for consumer goods and basic products, is one of the leading events in Europe and the largest in Flanders, Belgium’s center of economic activity. The fair has been held for 66 years in the course of which it has accumulated an impressive track record and witnessed continued growth on all levels, as demonstrated by the 90,000 visitors in its 2010 edition.
The annual show is organized by the Flanders Exhibition Council, a member of the International Union of Exhibitions, and is the annual meeting place for large numbers of companies, merchants, industrialists, agents and professionals from various sectors participating in the fair to display their products and introduce the public to their brands, taking advantage of the exhibition as a platform to penetrate different European markets.
The 66th edition of Accenta will be held from 10-18 September 2011 at the Flanders Expo center in Ghent, and will gather around 500 companies from different sectors over an area of 30,000 m2. With around 100,000 visitors expected this year, the business opportunities at the fair seem endless.
In addition to being a huge trade event, Accenta also proposes several concurrent educational and recreational events and activities, drawing in additional visitors from different segments of the public. Over 9 consecutive days, the fair will witness a succession of business meetings and presentations, deal signings and product on one hand, and an atmosphere of fun and entertainment thanks to the activities proposed to visitors on the other hand.
In short, Accenta is not just a fully comprehensive trade show; it is now a part of the culture and traditions of Flanders. So it is no surprise that the organizers claim “Whoever comes to the fair is sure to buy and sell”.
